#8 – Tuberculosis
TB is a bacterium that attacks the lungs and it’s mostly affecting people who carry the HIV virus. Also, a continuous use of certain medication like corticosteroids and drugs that affect the immune system may lead to building up TB in the lungs.
Fortunately, the number of deaths is decreasing every year reaching only 0.2 per 100.000 people in the United States. Moreover, Diabetes and a lower body weight are also risk factors.
The best method to protect your body is to get the bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) vaccinations; this is commonly given to babies. In most cases, TB can be perfectly cured following the right treatment.
