#9 – Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
COPD is a disease that progresses slowly attacking the lungs and making breathing very difficult. In fact, 32.9 per 100.000 Americans live with this disease and 974.0 per 100.000 Americans die yearly. The risk factors of getting this disease are very common like smoking, which affects the lungs directly with every cigarette, and a family history of this disease.
So far, there is no cure for COPD especially if you have a history of respiratory infections as a child. Thus, avoiding risk factors can lower the speed of the disease’s progression. In case you experience any symptoms of COPD, consult a doctor immediately.
