Some research shows that meditation is somehow related to weight loss and can actually help you achieve it. What researchers believe is that by finding some time in the morning to meditate can help you become more aware of your thoughts, actions, and choices, including those related to food, as by practicing meditation, you are actually increasing your mindfulness.

Researchers at Brown University tried to figure out how effective meditation can be in promoting weight loss. So, they have distributed a survey with 15 questions to a number of people and tried to measure their body composition according to their answers.

The survey showed that those people who recorded the lowest levels of mindfulness on the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS) were found to be 34 percent likelier to be obese.
