Numerous studies have shown that regular physical activity contributes to better control of diabetes by lowering glycated hemoglobin, a blood marker that reflects the blood sugar levels of the previous three months, and by improving insulin resistance.

It is usually recommended that you practice at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity (consistent with sustained walking) 5 times per week. The decrease in blood glucose would be more important, however, by intensive and short sessions several times a day.
