We all have one specific routine for our mornings that we rarely change. Well, unfamiliarity is the secret key to a sharper, healthier brain. You have to give your brain the ability to enjoy the freshness of a new routine in order to stay alert and active.

You don’t have to do any complicated thing. Simply, just shuffle things up and mix your daily schedule. For example, eat your breakfast before getting dressed for a change, watch cartoons instead of morning news or take a new road to work.

Look at things backward or upside down

You have been looking at things in one specific manner your entire life because, obviously, that’s how they are supposed to be seen. But have you ever tried looking at them from different angles? For example, why can’t we hold a remote control upside down and use it that way?

When you look at things upside down or backward, your brain will understand but will still focus more to interpret them, which means increasing its alertness. So wear your watch differently, put the calendar on a different wall, or change the position of your family photo on your desk.
