After a tornado which took place in 2011 in Joplin, Missouri, many people were diagnosed with Mucormycosis. The latter is a rare and deadly fungal infection caused by environmentally acquired molds which are more common in wood and soil.

According to doctors, This fast growing monster affects the walls of blood vessels.Filaments form, resulting in clots that block the blood flow, which in return lead to necrosis of the flesh and even a coating of mold. Fungs are also known as lid-lifter that found to remarkably grow in a lab environment as fast as in humans, eating into tissue and even bone.

The only treatment that can be followed in case of such infection is a strong and powerful antifungal drug and debridement, where dead flesh is sliced off to help the infected area get better. During the last year, Joplin had reported 74 cases of this disease where only 13 had the disease and sadly Five people died.
