There is a long and old debate about how good or bad is the coconut oil for one’s health! While some will strongly recommend that you embrace it in moderation, others will very simply urge you to completely avoid it! The conflict is about the high saturated fat content that coconut oil contains as they are believed to be unhealthy.

For instance, experts on the American Heart Association claim that replacing foods that contain high concentrated amounts of saturated fats such as coconut oil, can help improve lipid profiles and lower blood cholesterol levels. However, science comes to prove that unlike what these experts claim, not all foods high in saturated fats are actually bad for your health!

In general, saturated fats can be healthier to cook with at a very high temperature or when frying food as they are found to be more stable at high heat. However, no matter what always remember to practice moderation!
