Some chemotherapeutic agents can cause painful side effects, such as muscle and joint pain, headaches and stomach aches. It is also possible that they cause a burning sensation, numbness, tingling or lightning pain in the hands and feet. This effect may continue for some time after treatment. The care team indicates which medications to take to relieve the pain.
