#2 – More fiber

In order for your belly to be doing its job properly, you will need a good amount of fiber and fibrous foods are basically a natural laxative.

Basically, foods like Brussels sprouts, figs, apples, and black beans work on helping your stool to retain more water and bulk it up. So if you have 20 to 35 grams of fiber at least every day, then you will keep things flowing naturally and smoothly.

There are seeds that are also rich in fiber, including sesame, pumpkin, flax seeds, and sunflower. However, if you suffer from intestinal obstruction, bleeding disorders, or high blood pressure, then it is best to avoid flax seeds – Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should avoid it, too!
