We are already aware of the risks that the continued overuse of plastic poses to our planet. They’re also a threat to our health, as Phthalates – a group of chemicals –that are used to make plastic more flexible and durable.

The effects of these chemicals are largely unknown, but some researchers consider it to be an EDC (endocrine-disrupting chemical) that can modify hormonal balance and potentially cause reproductive and developmental issues.

Have extra attention when buying plastic items for your baby and toddler, such as plastic toys or plastic baby bottles. Buying from renowned brands or in pharmacies is generally a good rule of thumb.
