Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) is a particularly scary disease that modern medicine still cannot find a way to treat. It is much more than just a skin infection, MRSA can cause death within 24 hours.
There are many strains of MRSA and all of them are resistant to a variety of commonly used antibiotics available. Conditions linked to MRSA include:
– Necrotizing fasciitis (a flesh-eating infection that affects deeper skin layers)
– Toxic shock syndrome (a potentially deadly systemic infection)
– Necrotizing pneumonia (a flesh-eating infection that affects the lungs)
– Osteomyelitis (a painful bone infection)
– Sepsis (a potentially deadly infection that affects the bloodstream)
– Endocarditis (an infection of the heart)
MRSA can literally eat the human body. Unfortunately, very few effective antibiotics are available while the resistance is increasing.
