Increased heart rate

We rarely notice how our hearts are beating when we are calm, but there are some people who can actually hear and feel it, which cause discomfort, and once the rate increases, we freak out (causing it to increase even more).

At school, we have learned that the normal heart rate is 60 beats per one minute, but the range is actually from 60 to 100 beats per one minute.

So if you counted more than 60, then try noticing other factors like your stress level, food, smoking, lifestyle, lack of activity, etc. Also, if you counted more than 60 beats, then your average heart rate could simply just be different and it is 75 beats per minute.
