Drinking water straight from the tap is a definite no-no in this country as the water here is not potable. Water quality is considerably compromised, so it is suggested you carry around your own bottle of filtered agua.

When visiting Mexico, enjoying the gastronomy is undoubtedly part of the cultural experience. And while it is indeed okay to indulge, it is still best to err on the side of caution. In this case, it is perfectly acceptable to be a picky eater when it comes to what you are intaking.
