The more science develops, the more we learn about sugar and its horrible effects on our overall health. When it comes to the body’s skin, sugar harms it more than it does any good to it.

When we consume sugar, a process starts in our digestive system and it is called Glycation, then we end up with AGE’s which helps break down collagen (a protein that helps our skin to remain tight and it is produced by the body) faster than it is supposed to, which forbids it to be reproduced regularly.

All this process leads to a saggier skin with wrinkles. This is why it is important to limit your sugar intake in order to balance the production of collagen, therefore, a stronger and hydrated skin.

– 6 tsp is the maximum amount of sugar your body needs every day.

– Remember that the majority of the foods we consume daily contain sugar, so it is a must to steer clear of the sugar in your morning tea or coffee.
