It is okay, you still can drink your usual cup of coffee and your body will still react the same to it. Unfortunately, the caffeine cut across the placenta as well. Thus, your baby is the one who will be affected by the caffeine you take every day since his/her metabolism is still developing.

You don’t have to cut it off completely because researchers found that consuming caffeine in a moderate level do not have a negative impact on pregnancy. The moderate definition is between 150mg – 300mg per day.

According to the APA (American Pregnancy Association), avoiding caffeine as much as possible is the safest option during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Caffeine can be found in tea, coffee, chocolate, and soft drinks.
