Any weight loss program requires a caloric deficit to be successful. This means that the number of calories ingested daily must be less than the number of calories burned. It’s that simple. The problem is that some people put all the focus on reducing the number of calories ingested instead of finding a good balance between diet and workout plan.  Our bodies need the energy to function well, which is the same as saying it needs to intake calories. Starting a weight loss meal plan that drastically reduces your calorie intake all of a sudden can have a harmful effect on your organism. Eventually, it can potentially lead to a series of dangerous health complications.  Here are 6 signs that your body might not be getting an adequate amount of food:

6. You’re having sleep problems

If you’ve been sleeping worse since you adopted a new weight loss diet, you might have to reconsider your food choices.  A handful of observational studies concluded that restrictive diets can lead to difficulties falling asleep, less time spent in the state of deep sleep, and overall poor sleep quality. Plus, it always feels awful to lay in bed feeling hungry. You’ll probably start thinking about all kinds of food and it will take a lot of time and effort to finally fall asleep, or you’ll have to deal with sleep interruptions.  [ads shortcode=”td_responsive”]

5. You’re losing hair

A healthy person loses up to one hundred strands of hair per day. That’s perfectly normal, so you should have nothing to worry about if you notice a clump of hair strands down at the drain while showering. However, if you are losing much more hair than usual, your weight loss food plan might be to blame. Excessive hair loss can be a sign that your body isn’t getting enough calories and nutrients, such as biotin, iron, and certain vitamins and minerals. All these things are essential to maintain healthy hair growth. When the organism isn’t getting enough of these key nutrients, it will naturally prioritize the health of vital organs over hair growth, so hair loss may become noticeable. Additionally, your nails may also become brittle for the exact same reason.
