#3 – Poor Mental Health
Over-sitting negatively affects every part of your body and guess what your mental health is also in question!
I will fully understand you if you say that the nature of your job requires long sitting hours but what I fail to understand is your decision to spend the rest of your day after work sitting on that couch and act like a couch potato. I mean it is literally one form of suiciding!!
I know you had a long, exhausting day and you deserve some rest. Yes, I agree, I’m not saying you shouldn’t But there are many other healthy ways you can rest and restore your power and energy, for instance, a healthy choice could be no more than a nice walk in the fresh air with a friend or just a quick workout at the gym!
the Annals of Behavioral Medicine conducted a study in April 2012 where the relationship between sedentary behavior and mental well-being was closely examined and analyzed using Well@Work and shockingly found that non-occupational sitting time spent vegetating in front of the TV can slow down the mental function and sadly the most affected women’s mental health in particular.
