If you notice that your appetite has increased unexpectedly lately, the medications you’ve started taking might be responsible for that. Your medication could include substances such as cortisol, insulin, olanzapine, and clozapine, which all can be responsible for increasing your appetite.
These substances can be found in antidepressants and mood stabilizers. (More on stress eating and emotional eating next!) Try talking to your doctor, especially if you notice you’ve gained weight. He or she will know how to counter the side effects.
