Did you know that your body can make its own aspirin? A British study in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that people who consumed fruits and veggies that are rich in benzoic acid had salicylic acid (aspirin’s active ingredient) in their urine while they hadn’t taken any aspirin at all. Moreover, it was found that vegetarians had the highest levels of salicylic acid.
