After you are done biting your nails, all the germs will now be inside your mouth, and we don’t need to be doctors to understand that having bacteria within our mouths means that they will eventually end up in our digestive system.

In 2007, some Turkish scientists made an experiment on 59 people that combined non-nail biters and nail biters to see if the bacteria get transferred to the mouth.

After testing their saliva, the results were pretty alarming. E. coli was one of the bacteria that were found in their saliva, and it is responsible for vomiting and diarrhea.
