According to the Cleveland Clinic, an increase of inflammatory cells in your veins, especially those that seem to “hang” around for a little too long, would lead to a buildup of plaque within those blood vessels. This actually can lead your arteries to become a lot thicker, increasing your risk of stroke or heart attack.
Your body would usually perceive the plaque as foreign and abnormal because to our minds, a healthy blood vessel should not have that, and under the wrong set of circumstances, the plaque could rupture and come in contact with your blood, triggering a blood clot formation.
Fortunately, chronic inflammation can be easily managed if caught early. Don’t even hesitate to get everything your doubt checked out just to make sure you are on the right path.
