8. Potatoes

French fries are considered to be unhealthy food, but they’re so good and tasteful that we can’t avoid making them. But do you know that re-heating potatoes can be way more dangerous for your health than eating them for an entire week? Potatoes possess the same fate as eggs do, when left at room temperature for too long, they end up fostering Clostridium botulinum and its growth. If you didn’t know, this is a bacteria that causes botulism, which is a rare disease that leaves you very weak and can sometimes be fatal. Always keep your food hot in a high-oxygen environment.

9. Seafood

Fresh fish is the exact opposite of all the fatty foods listed above. It’s super healthy and full of benefits, but unfortunately, we end up neglecting fish from our food routine. However, if you’re not an experienced cook, maybe it’s a good idea to only rely on restaurants to eat seafood because poorly cooked fish can lead to food poisoning very easily. This happens when seafood isn’t kept at a certain degree level, normally between 40 and 140. To be safe, don’t go for a seafood buffet and never let it sit at room temperature for more than one hour. Re-heating it is also a bad choice; it will leave your entire house smelling, and you could be allowing bacteria to grow. We hope we didn’t spook you too much about what you shouldn’t reheat. At the end of the day, as long as you don’t heat food more than one time and don’t leave it at room temperature for more than an hour, you should be fine. Also, when refrigerating your food, you should always let it cool down first. Follow the simple rule of letting hot food settle for no more than 1 or 2 hours and then refrigerate it. Once it’s on the fridge, eat it within three days! Remember this, and you’ll be leaving a long healthy life!
