The syndrome of white coat hypertension is widely spread among the world’s population, affecting up to 20% of them. One of the symptoms of this syndrome is an increase in blood pressure levels due to fear when being with a doctor or in a medical institution.

In many cases people who have this syndrome don’t exhibit any signs and actually look calm on the outside; moreover, they may not even be aware that they are affected by it. The white coat hypertension affects women more often, mainly during their first week of being pregnant.
