It’s all a big marketing scam. In the 40’s, General Foods, a big company that sells breakfast foods set forth a public relations campaign in order to sell more products. Their focus was mainly on selling cereal.

The word was spread all over, and everybody believed that breakfast is an important meal and skipping it will lead to health issues and a significant decrease at the level of our mental and physical activity.

The campaign was a success, and cereal remains to this day the most consumed food during breakfast; while more and more experts still stress on the importance of breakfast. However, researchers in the medical field have shown that not having any breakfast doesn’t cause any harm and doesn’t affect our weight in any way.
