3. Bath pouf

Everyone has a bath pouf in their bathroom. After all, are you even clean if you don’t scrub your body with one of these? Even though we agree that poufs can provide skin exfoliation in the shower, those made out of plastic will end up in the ocean and landfills, which is not great for the environment. However, you don’t have to get rid of shower poufs all together, there is a simple alternative that’s just as good and inexpensive, and that item is a loofah. Loofahs are similar to bath poufs, except they’re made from natural materials, making them environment-friendly products.

4. Microbeads skin exfoliants

In case you didn’t know, many body and face exfoliants use plastic microbeads to help with the removal of excess dead skin on your body. Even though removing dead skin is important, these microbeads, which are made of polyethylene, are not degradable, so again, they’ll end up in the oceans or lakes, disturbing the lives of the animals who live there and possibly killing them over time. However, you can keep your skin exfoliated without these expensive creams that are bad for the environment. Be eco-friendly while giving your skin a good exfoliation! by using a natural exfoliant made out of coffee grains, oats, or sugar!. Besides, you’ll be saving a lot of money when making these homemade exfoliants!

5. Cotton (yup! also one of the toxic products)

One of the items most people use in their daily lives is cotton. Cotton buds for cleaning their ears after a shower, cotton rounds for makeup removal, disinfecting wounds, removing nail polish, and so on. The thing with cotton is that most of it is for single-use, which means that they go straight to trash and straight to the landfill. Also, pesticides are used while producing and growing cotton, which causes a big environmental impact, not a good one. So what can be done about this? Reuseable and biodegradable cotton. It’s not very common yet, but some small companies produce and sell cotton that can be used more than once. It’s great for the environment because it means less trash since it’s biodegradable and does no damage to the environment!
