Experts confirmed that using heat and cold to relieve back pain is quite effective.
Wrap an ice pack in a cloth and place it on your back. Leave it for up to 10-20 minutes to provide a numbing effect and prevent frostbite at the same time. An ice pack will also help reduce swelling before you switch to heat.
A heating pad can relieve stiff and strained muscles and reduce pain. However, heat that is too intense may backfire and hurt your skin as well, so make sure that the heating pad’s temperature is not too high.
