Peripheral vision is important for all the activities we perform in our life, especially for those who spend many hours on the road driving. However, if you consider that your peripheral vision is no longer what it was, this is a sign that you are losing it with advancing age.
The loss of peripheral vision is silent and irreversible. It does not warn anyone of its arrival and is one of the signs that you may be suffering from glaucoma – there are proper treatments, but there is no final cure.
This is what causes loss of peripheral vision and that is why you should have regular eye checks from age 40 to detect any risk factors. The sooner the problem is detected, the more effective it is to treat.
