It may sound weird, but wearing sunscreen on flights is necessary. Hiding inside a huge, flying metallic machine doesn’t make you protected from the harmful sun rays. According to experts, traveling six miles closer to the sun could really cause some damage.
In fact, being on a plane for 60 minutes at 30,000 feet above the ground is as dangerous as sitting for 20 minutes in a tanning bed. So to stay safe, wear your sunscreen!
It is good to use face makeup with an added bonus of SPF, but you should not rely it on it 100% to protect your skin. Some of these products have only an SPF of 15, but because the American Academy of Dermatology advises to not wear less than 30 SPF daily, you may want to add some extra protection.
