This is a combination of a migraine and tension headaches that is also known as the mixed tension migraine. The latter can result in a sharp and crippling pain that can last from 4 to 72 hours. Women are more prone to develop this type of a headache than men.
Surprisingly, children can also be affected! The headache can occur on one or both sides of the brain and may intensify with increased activity leading to some common symptoms, including nausea and vomiting.
