There is no harmful habit worse than smoking, and I believe the majority of people are aware of this fact. Cigarettes have caused 30% of cancer deaths, 30% of heart disease deaths, and up to 90% of lung cancers. Not to mention increasing the risk for throat, mouth and bladder cancer.

The horrible effects of smoking are endless and they are all deadly, but the second you quit, the benefits are immediate. In one month only, your lungs would be working a lot better, you will feel more energetic, and no more shortness of breath.

Smoking is an addiction that needs to be acknowledged, understood, and overcome. The journey of quitting may not be a piece of cake, but be sure that it is not impossible! Ask your doctor, seek support, and do whatever it takes to get over it.

Overusing sedatives and painkillers

When you don’t take them properly, the overusing of painkillers will be considered as an addiction. The OTC drugs like aspirin and ibuprofen for muscle pain or arthritis increase our chances of gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, heart attacks, and high blood pressure.

The symptoms of you taking too many painkillers are excess sleepiness, memory loss, confusion, feeling unresponsive, and frequent falling.

Of course, being on meds will make you feel good and get rid of the annoying pain, but taking them too much can lead you to develop an addiction and you will end up harming your body in the process. If you are experiencing chronic pain, you can try exercises or another alternative solution that could definitely help.
