You should never cover your mouth with your hands when you sneeze or cough because you allow the germs to stick on your face. This can lead to many unpleasant consequences, such as redness and eruptions. And it’s much riskier with infectious diseases because you can cause yourself eyelid inflammation by rubbing your eyes with your hand.
Instead, use a disposable paper tissue to cover your mouth when sneezing or coughing. In case you don’t have one, use your elbow crease to cover your mouth.
