If, somehow, you’ve split the coffin’s lid open successfully and you start climbing your way out of your own grave without getting suffocated, you’d better hope it hasn’t been raining lately because when the soil is wet it becomes denser.

This means you won’t be able to dig through it. You’ll need the soil to be dry and light. Obviously, the deeper you’ve been buried the harder it’s going to be.
