You might be thinking: Enough with this talk, what do I actually need to do?
It’s pretty simple:

First, find a comfortable spot to lie down, your bed, couch, whatever is more comfortable for you. The second step: lie on your stomach. Then grab the ice cube and place it on your Feng Fu point. Make sure you place it on the right spot.

You can search for videos or google images just to make sure you’re doing it right. Place the ice cube on your Feng fu point and try to relax for about 20 minutes. First, you might feel uncomfortable because of the cold, especially on such a sensitive spot. But try to push through it, you’ll feel the benefits right after the first 30 to 40 seconds.

For the best results, try to do this twice a day, say once in the morning before you eat and then again one more time before you go to sleep.

If you think about it, it’s pretty clear why and how this works. The pressure and the cold effect have a soothing feeling, plus, since you’re laying down on your stomach you’re relaxing completely, you’re not on your phone, or watching tv, you’re just laying down with your face buried on the bed. How many times can we do this per day? Or even per week? We only fully relax and rest when we’re sleeping.

So, by doing this you’re curing the pain but also relaxing, even meditating! Why? Well, because our mind and body are focused on one purpose, letting the ice sit on our neck for 20 minutes. That’s it. No worries, no distractions.

This is extremely relaxing for our brain making the pain go away faster. That’s why when you take pills for headaches but you keep scrolling through Instagram the pain won’t go away. You need to give your brain a rest, and we normally don’t do it.
