People “acquire” an asymmetrical jaw, meaning that no one is exactly born with one. Stress on the body during one’s childhood can be one of the reasons that lead to an asymmetrical jaw, but other factors, like the lack of protein in your diet, smoking, or obesity can also play a role in this chin shape.

The study came to show that people who had this type of chin came from large families, or low-income families, which could have a direct effect on their nutrition, or in the quality of the dental care they received.

Bulging chins and slanted chins can both become asymmetrical, and even though weak asymmetries are not visible to the inexperienced naked eye, there are some things that you can notice in yourself that might determine this condition, such as:

-You seem to use one side of your mouth to chew more than the other

-You crush your food instead of grinding it

-You have more dental plaque on some teeth

-You have bleeding gums sometimes

However, nowadays, you can get asymmetrical jaw surgery in order to correct it and to avoid jaw problems and better your dental health.
