In addition to kidney failure, liver issues can be also detected through the swelling condition of the feet and the ankles. Normally, the liver is the organ in charge of the production of a protein known as albumin.
The latter works on keeping fluid in the blood course and prevents its flow to the tissues. Diseases that affect the liver block the function of albumin and allow fluid to access the body’s tissues, resulting in swelling of feet and ankles. Hence, the swelling of these body parts is on the list of liver disease symptoms.
