1. Cucumbers – Keep Them Away From Other Fruits

Cucumbers are delicious vegetables to eat in the summer because they are extremely refreshing and look great in any salad. However, they are very sensitive to the action of ethylene gas (a ripening agent that accelerates decomposition) that is present in fruits such as bananas, melons, peaches, among others. How to store cucumbers? You must keep them away from fruits that have ethylene gas. Otherwise, they will spoil quickly. If you prefer that they are fresh, you can store them in a food storage cabinet as long as it has no fruits or other vegetables.

2. Fresh herbs – Add Water to Keep Them Fresh!

If you are a fan of wise food storage, then you probably already know that fresh herbs should be stored like fresh flowers. If you are not aware, there is also no problem because we will show you how to do it. And it is very simple. First, you need to confirm that the fresh herbs are properly dried. Then, cut the ends (just like fresh flowers) and place them in a glass or jar of water. It is optional whether or not it is placed in the refrigerator. The courgettes and pumpkins can be kept in a cool place (around 50 degrees Fahrenheit), can last for about six months, and do not necessarily need to be stored in the refrigerator. While apples and pears ripen much more quickly and when they are in contact with courgettes and pumpkins, they turn yellow and spoil.
