Scarring and pain

During the procedure, your doctor will do the best to manage your pain; the only uncomfortable thing is sitting in one chair for eight hours straight. Of course, the doctor will allow a few breaks to get up and stretch, but that would be it.

After the surgery, you may experience soreness but it will not be painful, it can be managed by OTC painkillers.

The scarring will not be minimal, especially if you chose the individual hair transfer surgery. The untrained eye will not be capable to detect the scarring, however, there could be a scar on the back of your scalp –doctors are usually careful as they tend to take it from an area that can be hidden by existing hair.

3 weeks after the surgery will be enough for the redness to disappear and the shaving areas to refill, not everyone will be able to tell that you had a surgery.
