Kimchi is made out of salted and fermented cabbage just like Sauerkraut, but it is spicier. It is a Korean side dish seasoned with a variety of spices such as Gochugaru, which is a chili powder garlic and ginger.

Traditionally, Kimchi used to be stored in places underground in order to remain cool during hot days, and during winter, it was an essential meal. Nowadays, they simply use refrigerators to store it. You may find it in the supermarket in the refrigerated section with other Asian products.

When it comes to its health benefits, Kimchi is rich in vitamin C and carotene. Moreover, since ginger, garlic, and onions are the most common ingredients of the dish, Kimchi has a rich nutrient value; it provides the body with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
