LDL cholesterol stands for low-density lipoprotein and it is generally seen as bad cholesterol. Still, having a high level of LDL doesn’t necessarily mean a higher risk of getting a heart attack, very simply because there are subtypes of LDL that have to do with the size of the particles and that’s what most people ignore.
