How would you feel when you wake up parallelized, unable to breathe, and can see creepy things? Of course, you would be in panicked, which is normal. You feel no longer normal, and you get the impression that what you see in terms of those scary hallucinations is so real.
Note that the panic attack can make the breathing issue even worse. So you need to relax, keep repeating in your mind that this will pass and try to find the connecting thread between your body and mind. The panic attack would become harder to keep under control because you are scared; fear increases panic.
