We will not dwell on how long does sleep paralysis last, but we could say when it can strike you. Mistakenly, many individuals believe that the experiencing of sleep paralysis can occur only in the middle of the night after sleeping for hours, then waking up, yet this is not always the case.

For instance, people who are diagnosed with narcolepsy, which is a neurological disorder, can be sleep-parallelized when trying to fall asleep.

According to experts, this happens because narcolepsy patients enter directly into the REM stage; therefore, having an episode of sleep paralysis while falling asleep is quite possible.
