#5 – Sodas
Sodas and other carbonated drinks can incredibly increase the amount of air you swallow! These beverages are full of bubbly gas, which all ends up in your stomach. Once air gets into your digestive tract, it obviously cannot stay there and has to escape somehow.
This is the main source of burping and increasing the amount of gas you pass. Ideally, you should try to switch to juice, tea, or water (not carbonated) to help decrease gas.
#6 – Fruits
Fruits, such as pears, peaches, prune, and apples, contain sorbitol, which is a natural sugar alcohol that the human body find troublesome to digest. Several other fruits also consist of soluble fiber, a type of fiber that dissolves in water.
Soluble fiber and sorbitol have to travel through the large intestines where they’re broken down by bacteria, producing methane gas, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide.
To avoid excess gas, eat apples away from meals, for example, 30 minutes before or 1 hour after. This fruit is more digestible out of meals.
