It’s always tempting to just put your hot meal directly into the freezer once you’ve done cooking or eating because you’re in a hurry or just convince yourself that there’s nothing wrong about doing so. But it’s very important to wait until the food has cooled down completely before going into the freezer.

Freezing food while still hot will cause the freezer’s temperature to rise, leading other foods in there to partially defrost. This is critically dangerous because it will result in a rapid bacteria growth. Always allow your meals or leftovers to cool down before freezing them.

  1. Eggs? Really, there has to be an article to tell people they can’t put eggs and canned goods in the freezer!

    I know some people absolutely love frozen grapes.

    Freeze grapes all the time and eat frozen. Freeze lemons in air tight wrappings and thaw in refrigerator and they are still nice and juicy.
