Clubbing is a condition characterized by the following symptoms:
Soft nail beds (it seems that the nail is floating instead of being firmly attached to your toe).
The toe becomes larger, rounder, warmer, and reddish around the nail area giving it the “clubbed” appearance.
The nail curves downward.
It is commonly caused by a series of diseases that reduce the amount of oxygen in the blood. Such diseases include chronic lung infection, lung cancer, or heart disease. It is very unlikely that you would develop clubbing without knowing that you are suffering from any of these serious health conditions.
