#8 – Granite Counter
Radon increases the risk of lung cancer, especially for smokers. Although this carcinogen can be mostly found outdoors, you can also be exposed to radon if your home is equipped with granite countertops. Furthermore, if you live in a region where there are high levels of radium and uranium in rock, radon can sneak into your house through cracks.
In case you live in such areas or have granite countertops, you may want to have your indoor’s radon levels measured to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your family.
