If you have been trying to limit your carbs intake at once, then you may experience a few unpleasant side effects like weakness, fatigue, dizziness, irritability, headaches, and nausea that can last for some couple of days or even weeks.

According to Kristin Kirkpatrick, a dietitian at Cleveland Clinic, the body needs fuel, and if it was given the choice, it will choose glucose and stored glycogen before anything else, and then fat.

When there is nothing to “feast” on for the energy, the body will start cannibalizing muscle. Basically, when the body’s favorite food source is not available, it would start making its own.

When you go off carbs, you will start feeling fatigued because you have cut out the main source of energy!
