Nutrients You Need

Eggs are a good source of inexpensive, high-quality protein along with many vitamins and minerals. This humble egg is considered to be the most nutritious food you can ever have.
Imagine that one whole egg has all the nutrients needed to turn one single cell into a baby chicken.

Only one and single large boiled egg is loaded with the following nutrients’ percentages of Recommended Daily Allowances (RDA):

• Vitamin B12: 9 percent
• Vitamin B5: 7 percent
• Vitamin A: 6 percent
• Folate: 5 percent
• Vitamin B2: 15 percent
• Phosphorus: 9 percent
• Selenium: 22 percent

In addition to this, eggs are also rich in Vitamins, like vitamin D, E, K, B6, Calcium, and Zinc along with 77 calories, 6 grams of protein and 5 grams of healthy fats.

You can just say that eggs are that perfect food which contains a little bit of every nutrient your body needs to stay in good health and shape. And if you can get yourself a pastured egg from a local farmer or an Omega-3 enriched egg, then this is even better and higher in vitamin A and E.

#2 – The Cholesterol Question

For too many people eggs have been considered as a health risk than a healthy food. They would avoid eating them because they contain high cholesterol levels. Let’s say one single egg contains 212 mg which is over half of the daily recommended intake of 300mg.

However, the good news is that the cholesterol found in food has much less of an effect on our blood cholesterol than the amount of saturated fat we eat. Therefore the cholesterol in eggs doesn’t necessarily raise cholesterol in the blood.

Normally, the Liver produces large amounts of cholesterol on a daily basis but when we eat more eggs the liver produces less cholesterol instead, so it evens out.

Exception: People with genetic disorders like familial hypercholesterolemia or a gene type called ApoE4 would better avoid or minimize taking eggs.
