So, the doctor Schweiger recommends you to keep the makeup remover pads on your nightstand to ease the cleaning process on nights when you are exhausted or have no time to waste. Just simply wipe your eyes, skin, and lips with the pad while on the bed.

On the other hand, the eye skin is the most delicate in the body and the thinnest, so scrubbing it with a product (doesn’t matter how gentle the label claims) can lead to broken blood vessels, infections or micro-tears. So always use gentle makeup remover, and try to never scrub hard while cleaning the makeup off your eyes.

Also, it is important to not use the same product on the whole face, for example, using a pencil that can work for both your eyes and lips; that’s how you increase the risk of getting an eye infection.

And of course, the most important precaution of them all is to never share your eye makeup with a friend. The product can easily transport bacteria from one person to another, putting you and your friend at risk of getting infections.

P.S: The same applies to lip makeup! If you and your friend (who may carry dangerous bacteria) shared a lipstick, you may end up with an infected lip.
