If you are a man and you just need to urinate, you should always do it at the urinal. It is much more hygienic than a regular toilet because there are no fecal germs, it consumes less water per flush (some models don’t even use water at all), and you won’t have to touch things like door locks, toilets seat, etc.

When you really have to use the toilet, here’s a piece of information that can help you pick the right stall: the middle stalls are the most frequently used. For that reason, you should start inspecting the toilet seats of the stalls on the ends. Look for dampness or discoloration on the toilet seat as these are usually traces of feces, urine, and blood.

Additional Tip: when entering and exiting the bathroom, avoid touching any surface directly with your hands. This starts with the door handle, one of the most contaminated surfaces of the bathroom. Why is that?

It is because 95% of people don’t wash their hands properly, so when they push the door handle to exit, traces of norovirus, hepatitis A, and other types of viruses and bacteria will probably all be gathered right there. Use your feet or your elbow to push and close the doors. Just be careful not to damage anything.
