Soaking the dishes in a sink is definitely not a healthy choice! You might be really surprised as you might have the habit to do this quite often but guess what? Your kitchen’s sink is a hotbed for harmful bacteria such as salmonella, colon bacillus, and Staphylococcus.

Even worse, the kitchen’s sink is considered to be even dirtier than your toilet seat that’s why it is extremely important to regularly clean it and wash it to avoid debilitating health consequences such as stomach and intestine disorders.

Hence, you should completely avoid soaking the dishes in the sink and you must also clean the sink every time it comes in contact with food, including vegetables, raw meat, milk products, and fish.

If you still believe in the popular myth saying that washing your hands with warm or hot water can kill the germs, then, you might need to know this! According to some researchers conducted on this subject, researchers surprisingly found that it’s not the hot water that counts but the time you take to wash your hands.

Researchers explain that if you wash your hands for 5 seconds, you will basically clean nothing at all and kill no germs but if you extended the period of washing hands to 30 seconds, you can be successful and kill almost all the germs and bacteria existing on your hands.

They also add that hot water can only decrease the protective function of your skin, which in return may lead you to develop skin issues including irritation and dermatitis.
